Appreciation

The key to happiness is appreciation. What does this mean in practical everyday terms? How can we really live with appreciation?

Appreciation can be linked to an apparent cause or not.
I can appreciate a sunrise, a shared moment of happiness, a delicious meal, painting, dancing, working, travelling…
I can simply be in a state of appreciation, for no particular reason.

Appreciation can be translated into thought.
I get up in the morning and give thanks for my life, for this day. I’m aware of the privilege of living, of breathing, of being able to think, see, hear, smell, speak, touch…

Appreciation can be translated into feeling.
I feel an inner well-being, the fruit of this state of gratitude.

Appreciation can be translated into momentum and inspiration.
Appreciation is good for our physical and emotional well-being. Research confirms that, like any act of kindness, it stimulates the emotional centre of the brain by releasing dopamine, the hormone that helps us feel positive emotions and find happiness. It reduces stress, depression and anxiety. It helps us make connections with life, situations and other people, even complete strangers. It makes us available, open and more inclined to intuition.

A thought, feeling, impulse or inspiration that vibrates with appreciation helps us to become more aware.

This appreciation is now part of our life experience, so we can access it more and more frequently, like a secret garden to which we know the way and to which we have the key.

By consciously choosing to nurture appreciation in our lives, appreciation becomes a state of being in which our lives take root and which never leaves us, regardless of the conditions of our lives.

We cease to be the plaything of circumstances and become the masters of our destiny, of our way of interacting with and shaping the reality of our lives.

When we turn our hearts towards the Light, everything is filled with Light.
It’s always simpler than we think.
It’s always more beautiful than what we see.
The Light is always more present and true than we perceive it to be.

It is our lack of appreciation that causes chaos in our lives.
It is complete appreciation that brings order and harmony.

If our attention is turned to all the blessings in our lives and the gift of being alive, in true appreciation, we bring protection and these blessings grow and stay with us.

Here’s a recent example I can share with you.
When I was in Paris, I specially extended my stay to go and see a play that was being performed for the last time. 90 minutes in traffic meant that I arrived at 7.08pm instead of 7pm, and I couldn’t get home. Luckily I’d told my friend that I’d have to go without me and that we’d meet up afterwards. I stayed in a state of appreciation, curious about what else I was going to experience, the rain on my face, a stop at Maison Aleph, a succulent patisserie in the Marais, meetings with passionate and fascinating people, a moment in the silence of St Gervais church by candlelight, then a warm sharing with my friend. I didn’t let external conditions define or alter the appreciation of being that allows us to be open and available to a field of possibilities that is always present and renewed, and in tune with the vibratory frequency of our thoughts.

Appreciation literally raises the vibratory frequency of our thoughts, enabling us not only to come into harmony with what is, but also to reveal new harmonics.

What does appreciation mean to you?

When was the last time you felt it? Under what conditions?

How do you nurture appreciation on a daily basis?

I’m looking forward to reading and hearing your inspiring shares!

If you feel that you lack appreciation, remember that it’s a seed that we can plant in the garden of our lives, water and grow until it becomes a tree that bears abundant fruit, until we ourselves become appreciative.

Contact me and together we’ll see how!
